"Filmic Architecture" Architecture as a character in Bad Living and Living Bad.
this master thesis investigates the relation between architecture and cinema. the following drawings are from the Hotel Parque do Rio, by architect José Júlio de Oliveira, the chosen location for shooting the movies Bad Living and Living Bad, by portuguese director João Canijo. all of the drawings were made on archicad from a 3D model built from scratch based on archive drawings and photos of the hotel.

following, there are selected axonometric and perspective drawings done to explore the construction of the filming set, to understand how the spaces are used by the camera and the human actors to achieve each scene. the yellow represents the filmic architecture, while the other colors represent each scene when multiple are compared in the same space.
